What is spiritual counseling? Being a spiritual being in a physical body can be confusing in and of itself! We may have been raised with or exposed to beliefs that we want to explore more deeply. We may have had spiritual experiences which we don't understand and would like to talk with someone about.
My experience is that the Power that resides at the center of all things - which some call God, or Christ, or Spirit, or the Living Presence, or the Universe, or the Inward Teacher, or any number of other names - is amazingly multilingual. This Power has the capacity to speak directly to each of us in the language of our experience. A person who is trained, experienced in the spiritual life, and who allows you to freely explore can be a valuable companion on the journey of spiritual discovery.

What is a session like? In a spiritual counseling session, you speak and I listen. I may ask questions and offer reflections on what I hear you saying. The focus is on helping you reach your own understanding of your spiritual path, develop the relationship with the Divine that you feel led to develop, and discern how you are being led to manifest this relationship in your life.
Qualifications in Brief: I am a Christian, seeking to answer that of God in every person. I am trained as a spiritual director and as a psychotherapist. My personal spiritual history includes Apostolic Christianity, Quakerism, Presbyterianism, Catholic Christianity, universalism, shamanism, yogic spirituality, and mindfulness meditation. I treasure all of the roots of my spiritual experience, and rest securely in my relationship with Jesus.
